The Food Story’ - Food Production lab (Kitchen& Bakery)

The kitchen is a spacious and well equipped laboratory designed to provide training to students in food preparation. Students learn basic to advance level culinary skills in Indian and international cuisines. Kitchen Management, Hygiene & sanitation, menu planning & costing are all an integral part of becoming a world-class chef, which is taught here.

MIHM students get the unique opportunity to work with the professional chefs at the kitchens of Deccan Harvest, Wah Marathi, Kara & Megameals.

The Cuisine

Training restaurant and advanced bar: ‘The Cuisine’ is our Training Restaurant and Bar with attractive interiors and pleasant ambience. We have an entire range of modern crockery and cutlery for students to practice international styles of service. They receive training at the F&B outlets of Deccan Harvest, Kara &Wah Marathi, where they learn to day-to-day operations & management of restaurant business.

Housekeeping

The Cocoon’ – Housekeeping Lab (model guest room): The model guest room in the institute is named after our own Hotel ‘Cocoon’. The students get to learn facilities, amenities and services provided at 5 star hotels. Beautification, maintenance & upkeep of the hotel premises is the key responsibility of this department. The students practice supervision and managerial duties at our 4 star Cocoon Hotel.

The front office section trains students to interact with guests and provide hospitality services. They learn to operate hotel system software for MIS, budgeting, room rate fixation. Students learning to receive guests, offer services and prepare reports.

SEMINAR HALL

Guest lecture on Current trends in Hotel Housekeeping by Mr. Vijay Bagul – HOD Housekeeping, Cocoon Hotel. Our seminar hall has a theater-style seating capacity of 150 pax. It is fully air-conditioned and is suitable for international conferences, symposium, meetings, seminars, concerts, presentations and performances. The hall is fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual devices with 85” LFD television, wi-fi&cast screen enabled. The seminar hall has advancePA system with karaoke, sound mixer and facilities for video conferencing.

STUDENT CAREER COUNSELLING

Guiding and supporting students in their academics and careers is an integral part of MIHM culture. We ensure that students get ample opportunity to interact with the teachers in groups or individually.
